Moderate

30 km south of Wagga Wagga the 364 metre peak provides sweeping vistas over farmland and to the Australian Alps in the distance. The moderate climb up this 430 million year old quartzite outcrop passes by tall gums with wallabies often spotted in the undergrowth. Overhead wedge tailed eagles soar and listen out for the cries of black cockatoos. The Rock (Kengal) is a significant Aboriginal Dreaming place for the Wiradjuri people.
