The metamorphosed sedimentary Stirling Ranges rise above the flat plains north of Albany and create their own climate. The area has an incredible botanical significance with over 1,000 wildflowers of which 100 are unique to the ranges. The track commences through eucalypt and banksia woodland and grass trees on the lower slopes. From the summit there are 360 degree views across the plains of the Great Southern region.
