Victoria’s Yarra Ranges has many walks catering for all levels amongst stands of Mountain Ash with understoreys of tree ferns and creeks enclosed by temperate rainforests. This walk is not arduous and follows the Taggerty River heading to the Taggerty Cascades surrounded by sassafras and moss covered myrtle beech. The national park is home to 120 species of native birds; you may be fortunate and spot a lyrebird if you are quiet.
