NSW NPWS Is Developing a Network of Great Walks Across New South Wales

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is developing a network of Great Walks across New South Wales to deliver world-class bushwalking experiences for visitors.

These spectacular multi-day walks will traverse some of the state’s most breathtaking and diverse landscapes.

Walks are being designed for varying levels of fitness and experience with a range of distances, grades and accommodation options to cater for as many walkers as possible.

The NSW Great Walks will deliver important economic benefits across New South Wales, especially to regional communities, and help build a strong legacy of support for conservation.

The NSW Great Walks document outlines the National Parks and Wildlife Service approach to developing these new walking experiences. This includes defining what constitutes NSW Great Walks and outlining guiding principles for building new walks and facilities in national parks.

The table below lists the 13 Great Walks currently established or in development within NSW national parks. Visit the page for each walk for further information on individual walks including opportunities to get involved in community consultation activities or sign up for project updates.
