Triplet Falls, Victoria

  • Location: Great Ocean Road, Victoria
  • Distance: 2 kilometres
  • Time: 1 hour
  • Terrain: Track
  • Traditional Custodians: Gadubanud
Easy

This easy 2km loop is a triple treat, highlighting the key attractions of the Otway Ranges – a spectacular waterfall set in a towering temperate rainforest, and with birds flitting through the understory for company. The walk along a track (which can be slippery) and raised boardwalk immerses you immediately in the serenity of this fecund environment. The falls cascade in three sections down a mudstone escarpment framed by myrtle beech and tree ferns. Towering mountain ash, the world’s tallest flowering plant are passed on the way to the viewing platform. Some of the magnificent eucalyptus regnans are over 300 years old.
