New Women Only Hikes From Australian Walking Holidays

The triple eco-certified Australian Walking Holidays company has launched six new women’s walking trails 2023 from inspiring three day walks to challenging 16 day hikes.

Women walkers looking for minimal impact walking experiences filled with a ton of female-focused fun and connection can now take on the Northern Territory’s Larapinta Trail, Tasmania’s Walls of Jerusalem and the hottest new 2023 destination, Flinders Island, with Australian Walking Holidays. All treks are led by our team of inspiring female guides who deliver special experiences for the participating ladies.

All fully supported walks offer a small footprint expedition-style experience in a supportive environment in the most stunning wilderness locations of Australia.

“We’ve curated six of our best walking trips specifically for women, with added extras and no single supplements” says Australian Walking Holidays General Manager, Michael Buggy.

“Each walk is meticulously designed to cater for women with respect for the environment and cultural sensitivity, so you just need to sit back and be part of the adventure.”

Discover the beauty of the ancient Red Centre and the West MacDonnell Ranges on a revitalising three day Larapinta Goddess Walk in Comfort with early morning yoga and meditation, eco-campsites and all meals.

Take on the six or eight day Women’s Classic Larapinta Trek in Comfort and stay in exclusive multi-award winning Eco-Comfort camps with hot showers and safari-style sleeping tents. Add private bush tucker cooking and a spectacular sunrise viewed from the peak of Mount Sonder.

Or take the challenge and trek the entire 223km length of the Larapinta Trail in 16 days on the Larapinta End to End trek, experience wilderness camping under a canopy of stars in the outback, climb Mount Sonder for an epic sunrise, traverse remote canyons and swim in waterholes.

Famed global guide Shelby Pinkerton will lead the Women’s Adventures trek on Flinders Island in Northern Tasmania. Explore spectacular peaks, rolling green pastures, coastal vistas and view unique Australian wildlife. Walkers bed down in a private Eco-Comfort Camp and visit both the Flinders Island Museum and the sobering heritage of the Indigenous settlement of Wybalenna.

The seven day Women’s Adventures Walls of Jerusalem walk in Tasmania is a fantastic introduction to wilderness trekking. Expect abundant wildlife and endemic wildflowers on this official Great Walk of Tasmania with historic mountain huts, highland heritage and a labyrinth of alpine lakes and tarns, dolerite peaks and ancient forests of Pencil Pines.
