Easy

On the rugged shoreline of the south coast of New South Wales, the Pinnacles Loop Walk highlights the unique geology of this landscape, easily overlooked in favour of the famed beaches which draw visitors to this region. Walking in a clockwise direction, the track meanders through coastal heath, offering glimpses of the ocean before emerging upon a lookout over the iconic Pinnacles formation. The eroded cliffs are marked by a distinct colouration: a rich red clay layered atop a gleaming white base. From the lookout, the track dips into a sheltered pine and eucalypt woodland before returning to the trailhead.
