From a sacred mountain to a sleepy town, a day walk on the Sapphire Coast has much to contemplate.
Eight kilometres north of Bermagui is Wallaga Lake, an estuarine body of water that lays at the feet of the sacred mountain, Gulaga. Here, on the nal sweep of the lake as it runs to the mouth to meet the Tasman Sea at Wallaga Lake Reserve, the walk begins. You’ll need to have a plan to get back and collect your car, either doubling back on the walk, riding a bike or collaring someone in town to give
you a lift.
