Mount Barney Loop, Queensland.

  • Location: Queensland
  • Distance: 16 kilometres
  • Time: 8 hour hike
  • Terrain: Track / Rock
  • Traditional Custodians: Bundjalung

The tough climb up Mount Barney requires a decent level of bushwalking experience. It is best first tackled with others who have knowledge of the route. On the way to the 1359 metre summit you will pass through open woodland, sub-tropical rainforest and montane heath. The peaks of this area are from a 24 million year old volcano. Rock scrambling and navigational skills are necessary to reach the top.
