This out and back hike through the Tasman National Park commences at the Fortescue Bay Campground and follows a section of the Three Capes track to Cape Hauy. Large and well-maintained rocky steps undulate and wind through sections of woodland and heathland adorned with colourful wildflowers. After a solid ascent, the junction marks the perfect pit stop (views included) before continuing onto the final leg. Extending into the Tasman Sea, the cape offers impressive ocean vistas on both sides, with remarkable dolerite columns emerging directly from the water. Famously known as The Candlestick and Totem Pole, these geological anomalies have become a hotspot for rock climbers, an amazing spectacle to pair with a snack. Make sure to bring binoculars on this walk for sighting seabirds and even passing whales.
