“Each category is meticulously curated and researched, ensuring that the list represents the best trail experiences available across Western Australia,” said Suzanne Hillier, Chairperson for Trails WA.
“Trails WA has narrowed down over 1,000 registered trails across the State, to highlight the trails that are worthy of a coveted spot on the Top Trails list,” she added.
Each category boasts a selection of the most exciting and enchanting paths, offering a wide range of experiences for outdoor enthusiasts or those just starting out.
From the winding paths of Perth’s Hills to the breathtaking vistas of Bald Head or the jaw-dropping Bungle Bungles, the hiking category features some of the most scenic and possibly challenging trails in the State. The Mountain Biking category has many newcomers and is sure to get the adrenaline pumping, with thrilling rides that offer a rush of adventure.
For those interested in the rich cultural heritage of WA, the Aboriginal Culture category highlights trails that offer insights into the traditional customs and beliefs of the land’s First Peoples. According to CEO of Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC), Robert Taylor, says “Trails that showcase Aboriginal culture provide a distinctive tourism experience. These trails offer a chance for both locals and visitors to learn and experience the rich history of Western Australia while providing Aboriginal tour operators an opportunity to share their stories.”
Lastly, the Wheelchair Accessible Trails category features paths that are accessible to all, ensuring that everyone can experience the beauty of Western Australia’s trails.
