Walks in Queensland are rich with natural beauty, diverse in landscapes and offer the chance to see some of Australia’s most interesting and iconic flora and fauna. The Border Trail, situated in Lamington National Park, is one of the great Queensland walks for not only experienced hikers, but also those wanting to try an overnight hike, or even a solo mission for the first time. Set upon a 22-kilometre track supported by campsites and resorts at both ends, this hiking trail lies within a world-heritage listed Gondwana rainforest, affording the chance to walk alongside plants and animals largely unchanged from their ancestors in the fossil record. In a similar fashion, the Thosborne Trail on Hinchinbrook Island allows the walker autonomy over the length and duration of the hike. Whether it be for one night or a week, this is one of the most magnificent Queensland hiking trails traversing the eastern terrain of the island with timeless views of tropical beaches, enchanted rainforests and the chance to swim beneath a waterfall. With well setup hiking trails and consistent temperate weather, Queensland is a stunning destination for hiking year-round.
