A Natural Escape: Tasmania’s New Celebration of Nature & Community

The Tasman Region has welcomed an exciting new addition to Tasmania’s events calendar with the launch of A Natural Escape – a three-week celebration of nature, culture, and community running from 6–26 October 2025.

A Natural Escape is a strategic initiative of Tasman Council, designed to activate the region during the shoulder tourism season while promoting sustainable tourism practices. Backed by Events Tasmania for both 2025 and 2026, the event is set to become an annual highlight, cementing its place as a cornerstone of the Peninsula’s tourism offering.

A Natural Purpose

More than just a series of events, A Natural Escape reflects the Tasman region’s commitment to responsible tourism – balancing visitor growth with care for the environment, community, and culture. A Natural Escape’s guiding principles focus on:

  • Environmental Conservation – Protecting the Peninsula’s unique ecosystems while offering opportunities for visitors to connect with nature.
  • Community Engagement – Ensuring tourism benefits are shared locally.
  • Cultural Preservation – Honouring Indigenous heritage and local traditions.
  • Economic Sustainability – Supporting year-round viability for local businesses.
