Bookings are now open for the 32km Ngaro track, a challenging multi-day hike that connects the iconic white sands of Whitehaven Beach to the beautiful swirls of Hill Inlet, in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.
Accessible only by boat, you can explore the interior areas of the island previously inaccessible to visitors and enjoy bespoke camping facilities to stay overnight.

Ngaro Track bookings
The Ngaro Track is open for bookings for the inaugural 2026 hiking season. Bookings are essential for all walkers, as the track is not accessible for day use visitors.
Choose your own adventure on the Ngaro Track – walk in comfort with a fully guided and catered tour, a guided tour or be self-sufficient as an independent walker.
Visitors without a Ngaro Track booking will be able to access the walking tracks around Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet. This includes the Whitehaven Beach lookout and headland tracks, the Solway circuit and Chance Bay tracks accessible from Whitehaven Beach; and the Beach track and Hill Inlet track accessible from Tongue Bay.
