Bush Heritage Australia is calling on supporters to brew a cuppa and donate the cost of a store-bought drink as part of its annual giving day, Cuppa for the Bush, held this year on Tuesday 24 February from 7am–7pm.
Bush Heritage Australia is a leading conservation not-for-profit that has protected landscapes and ecosystems around the country for 35 years. It directly manages 1.46 million hectares of reserves, and partners with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and agricultural landholders to help care for a further 21 million hectares – delivering landscape-scale impact across more than 22 million hectares. Bush Heritage has plans to expand the landscapes it protects significantly in the coming five years.

As climate change, biodiversity loss and other pressures intensify, Bush Heritage says its work is vital to keeping Country healthy and protected forever.
Cuppa for the Bush is an informal national giving day that invites nature-lovers to take a moment, brew a cuppa, and donate what they would normally spend on a café drink to support conservation.
Last year, more than 1,200 supporters raised $260,000 – the equivalent of 52,000 cuppas. This year, Bush Heritage is aiming to double participation to 2,400 people and raise $300,000 for the bush.
Thanks to generous matched-giving donors, donations made between 7am and 7pm on 24 February will be doubled, dollar for dollar, up to $150,000 – so every cuppa can count twice. Donate the cost of a store-bought drink during the matched-giving window.
Supporters can also help by creating a Cuppa for the Bush fundraising team with a hiking group, book club, sports team, workplace, friends or family. Visit cuppa.bushheritage.org.au/signup to set up a team, set a fundraising goal, and share your team page via social media and email. You may even choose to connect over a cuppa by hosting a morning tea on Tuesday 24 February.
