Queensland’s highest peak is typically in cloud and wet in the summer months due to orographic uplift, so best tackled between May to October. The hike commences through tropical rainforest and emerges to a boulder field with expansive views from the Atherton Tablelands down to the coast. This is an arduous climb to the 1622 m summit amongst unique flora and fauna and should only be tackled by experienced hikers.
