Moderate

At the far end of Sydney’s Northern Beaches is the prominent sandstone headland of Barrenjoey with the heritage lighthouse and cottages. Take the Smuggler’s Track for the best views over Pittwater to the west and Palm Beach and the Tasman Sea to the east. In winter and spring migrating whales can often be seen. Looping back via Palm Beach is recommended for a swim or bodysurf if conditions are favourable.
